From shared experience to entrepreneurial vision

Flatta was born out of a shared experience and a common vision. As three young graduates, we first met while serving in the Finnish military, where we built a strong bond based on trust, teamwork, and resilience. During our studies, we witnessed first-hand how housing struggles were holding people back from life-changing opportunities. Many students had to cancel their exchanges or internships simply because they couldn't find suitable accommodation or because managing two rents at once was financially impossible.

Turning a problem into a solution

Determined to solve this issue, we joined Aalto University's startup accelerator, Ignite, where Flatta took shape. Through mentorship, research, and hands-on development, we built a platform designed to bridge the gap between departing and arriving students, ensuring that every furnished apartment finds the right tenant. Since attending Ignite, we have helped hundreds of exchange students and faculty secure flexible, hassle-free housing solutions.

The next generation of apartment rentals

We believe that exploring the world should be exciting, not stressful. That's why we've set our sights on an even bigger goal: Creating a next-generation apartment platform to make renting anywhere as easy as booking a hotel. We're taking our platform international with tools to enhance both the landlord and tenant experience in a world of changing regulation, powered by the latest technological advancements.
